It’s hard to believe that just one year ago, I created my very first handmade dog collar. At the time, I never imagined were we would be today— but what a awesome journey it has been!

Over the past year, Kudo the Dog Collars has grown from a small idea into a trusted brand. It’s the best feeling, to meet new people and have them say “OH I know Kudo the Dog my friend has one or two of your collars they love it” Our collars and leashes have transformed from simple beginnings into durable, stylish, and reliable gear for dogs of every size. Each one is crafted with love, inspired by Kudo’s memory, and built to last.

🐾 Learning the Craft of Quality Dog Collars

When I first started, I didn’t know much about different dog collar clasps, D-rings, or webbing strength. My dining room quickly turned into my craft room, where I spent hours testing materials and perfecting designs.

I discovered that the right hardware and strong webbing don’t just improve quality — they make collars safer and more comfortable for dogs. Every improvement brought us closer to making the best dog collars for active, strong, and adventurous pups.

I’m especially grateful for the big, strong dogs who helped us test our products. They tugged, pulled, and played hard, pushing our designs to the limit. Thanks to them, we upgraded to tougher materials and created long-lasting collars and leashes that pet parents can trust.

Looking back on this first year, I feel so proud of how far we’ve come. Looking forward, I’m excited to continue creating handmade dog collars and leashes that combine strength, style, and heart.
