Today is National Rescue Dog Day, and that feels pretty special around here. 🐾

Kudo the Dog started with a rescue dog named Kudo.

Kudo came into our lives in 2011 and completely changed it. He was our family, our adventure buddy, and eventually the inspiration behind everything we do. When we lost him in 2024, we knew we wanted his legacy to continue helping dogs.

That’s why supporting rescues and shelters is such an important part of Kudo the Dog.

We love attending events that give back to local organizations because they bring people together for something bigger than a sale. They help raise money, awareness, and support for the people working every day to help dogs in need.

And then there’s Luke.

Luke came into our lives after Kudo, and while he has some very big paws to fill, he has certainly made his own mark on our family—and on Kudo the Dog. He is our adventure-loving, swimming, jumping, slightly crazy CEO, and a big part of why we make the gear we do. He reminds us every day that dogs are individuals, and they all deserve gear that works for them.

Strides for Strays

This Saturday, we’ll be at Strides for Strays, hosted by Riverside Rescue at the Lancaster Fairgrounds.

Grab your pup, get your pledges together, and come join us for a day supporting local rescue!

We’ll have our handmade collars, leashes, Biothane gear, and personalized accessories with us. But most importantly, we’ll be there to support Riverside Rescue and the dogs who are still waiting for their next chapter.

Kudo gave us the inspiration.

Luke keeps us moving forward.

And the dogs in need remind us why we do this.
